Aspen Pilgrimage

After a brief season of growth, before the beginning of snowfall, Quaking Aspens turn gold in the elevations of the Rockies between peaks and on the sides of valleys. Out in the mountains of Utah, in the Fish Lake Wilderness, lies the worlds largest organism. A single Quaking Aspen consisting of tens of thousands of trees over 80 acres, all connected through their roots. Together as the tree prepares to sleep for a long winter and its leaves turn gold, I had the privilege to paint.
