Circular Soil: 2025 PHS Flower Show Display

OLIN Labs debuted their collaboration with Remark Glass and Bennett Compost at the 2025 PHS Flower Show. DDF works was contracted to build the display structure using reclaimed lumber. The installation, Don’t Call it Dirt; Don’t Call it Trash features upcycled glass sculptures by Remark Glass, glass-sand from Bottle Underground, food-based compost from Bennett Compost, and Biochar.

The installation is the culmination of over a decade of research and collaboration between OLIN Labs, local. regional and national partners and funders, to investigate the use of alternative materials in its soil specifications to improve overall soil sustainability.
